Stevenage

The Stevenage events start from the main car park in Fairlands Valley Park, Six Hills Way, Stevenage SG2 0BL. There is plenty of free parking.

Heading from the car park (along the access road) into the park you will reach Costello's cafe. The cafe may be open if there are enough entrants to justify them opening early. Details on this will be communicated nearer the event dates.

Getting There

By Bike

Stevenage is perfect to ride an ECE from places such as Cambridge or Great Dunmow or indeed north London; being a little over 50km from these locations by the shortest routes on quiet lanes.

By Train

Stevenage has an intercity station on the East Coast main line, 30 mins from Kings Cross. The 6:31am train from Kings Cross on a Sunday will get you to Stevenage at 7:02am.

It is a 2.5km ride from the station. After exiting the barriers you turn left (turn right if you used the platform lift) towards the town centre. Before crossing the bridge you go left down a stepped ramp to the taxi rank. Diagonally left across the taxi rank will take you to the segregated cycle track network. Turn left onto the cycle track (railway track on your right) and follow it past the police station where it bears left to a junction. Turn left here and keep going straight, under two roundabouts, then up Six Hills till you descend and see the open expanse of the park to your left and right. Continue up the hill till you meet the access road to the park (which crosses the cycle track), and turn left. The main car park is shortly on your left with the cafe further on.

By Car

Stevenage is off junctions 7 (south) and 8 (north) of the A1. The A602 also comes in directly from the east. On entering the park, turn left into the first car park on the left. Do not park in the much smaller car park near the cafe.
